As a Test Automation Engineer in the automotive cluster domain, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing automated test cases for Cluster Body and Cluster General functionalities. You will ensure the reliability and performance of instrument clusters through efficient automation, HIL validation, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality ECU software.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute automated test cases using ECU-TEST tool.
- Understand requirements and derive test scenarios and test cases accordingly.
- Monitor nightly build executions, analyse test results, and perform root cause analysis for failed test cases.
- Maintain automation scripts and ensure test environments remain stable across various HIL clusters.
- Very good knowledge of vehicle protocols (CAN / LIN / Ethernet) and there implementation in simulation environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, commissioning, and analysis to troubleshoot issues and enhance system validation.
- Propose ideas and solutions to improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and reporting mechanisms.
- Validate and test HMI functionality as part of system-level testing.
- Execute tests across multiple vehicle platforms (e.g., MEB, MQB).
- Ensure documentation, test traceability, and compliance with process and quality standards.
Required Skills & Experience :
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in automotive / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering, or related field.Around 3 to 5 years of experience in automotive automation testing and validation, specializing in test automation development, execution, and analysis for vehicle ECUs and diagnostic systems.Strong knowledge of automotive systems (Powertrain, ECU, ADAS, Infotainment, etc.).Understanding of software testing lifecycle (STLC), HIL validation, and defect management.Experience in tools like CANalyzer, CANoe, GIT, Excel, Confluence, JIRA, ODISStrong understanding of vehicle dynamics, powertrain systems, Body or EV platforms,Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.Familiarity with test benches, simulation platforms, and diagnostic tools.Knowledge of requirement-based testing and traceability processes.Good knowledge on Toolchain used in VW World : ODIS, CP Tool, Testguide is a plus.
