Sr Snowflake Data Engineer

Role Overview

We’re seeking a Sr Data Engineer passionate about building scalable, cloud-native data solutions using Snowflake, dbt, and modern ETL frameworks. You will design, implement, and support data architectures and pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and AI-driven use cases for global clients.

You’ll work within a consulting team that collaborates with clients across industries to solve complex data challenges. You will get involved in designing efficient data pipelines, supporting and maintaining them, optimising performance, and ensuring data integrity across the stack.

Core Responsibilities

Collaborate with senior consultants to design and implement data solutions that solve business problems for clients.

Actively participate in client meetings and engage with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL / ELT workflows for ingestion, transformation, and reporting using Snowflake and modern orchestration tools such as dbt, Matillion, Airflow, or ADF.

Manage and optimize Snowflake environments, including but not limited to warehouses, databases, schemas, and access controls, ensuring cost efficiency and performance.

Ensure data quality, track lineage, and establish governance through modern cloud-first tools (Great Expectations, dbt, CI / CD).

Support integration with BI platforms like Power BI, Sigma, Tableau, or Looker, enabling reliable analytics delivery

Contribute to continuous improvement in data engineering practices, automation, and infrastructure-as-code.

Collaborate in a fully remote, Agile-like environment using tools like Slack, GitHub, and Trello (with a lot of uninterrupted development time)

Strong problem-solving and quantitative skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Qualifications

At least 3+ years of hands-on experience in Snowflake, data engineering, and ETL / ELT and familiarity with concepts such as query optimization, Snowpipe, time travel, zero-copy cloning, clustering, and data sharing.

Proficiency in SQL and Python (or PySpark) for data transformation and automation.

Experience with ETL / ELT tools such as DBT, Matillion, Fivetran, Coalesce or SSIS.

Experience with cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Hands-on experience with version control (Git) and CI / CD (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar).

Familiarity with a cloud data warehouse data platform, such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Amazon Redshift, and / or Google BigQuery.

Familiarity with data orchestration and monitoring tools like Airflow, Control-M, or DataDog.

Experience working with Business Intelligence / Data Visualization tools (Power BI, Sigma, Tableau,Looker etc.).

Solid understanding of data warehousing, schema design, and performance tuning.

Solid understanding of data modelling concepts with experience designing and implementing data models for applications or reporting
