WSP UK Rail GCC in Bengaluru is looking for a highly skilled individual for this key leadership role to lead the UK Rail MEP team on major multi-disciplinary projects’ delivery, from concept stage to detailed design. The role will focus on design production and integration with Architects, Engineers, and specialist consultants. Accountability of the role includes operational performance management, technical and people leadership and project delivery leadership for a team of 30+ professionals.

Responsibilities
Project and Technical Delivery
- Lead the production of coordinated designs through all design stages (GRIP, RIBA for LUL, Network Rail etc).
- Perform a strategic lead role on large multi-disciplinary projects as well as providing bespoke design solutions to niche and architectural led concept designs.
- Project planning, forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, resources allocation, monitoring & reporting of progress & performance.
- Manage project risks & mitigations effectively and ensure delivery of projects to budget, quality & programme.
- Provide leadership and guidance in the execution & successful delivery of projects, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Manage technical discussions and challenges that arise during project execution, providing innovative solutions and guidance.
- Manage the interfaces of the MEP design within and across the wider multidisciplinary project teams and ensure seamless communication.
- Undertake management reporting and communications with own team, project teams and leadership teams.
- Support production of bids & proposals, project mobilisation and delivery strategies.
- Establish and manage strong working relationships with other WSP disciplines, external design consultants, stakeholders and clients.
- Engage with Lead Country and other region teams across GCC to ensure that communication and design processes are continually improved.
- Support the development and delivery of training and knowledge sharing sessions.
People and Team Management

Strong experience working on Railway stations’ design and engineering.Proven track record of successful design delivery, from concept / preliminary stage to tender / reference design, to support Clients’ procurement of Contractors.Ability to make a difference, pro-actively manage requirements and risks and influence others to deliver successfully.Excellent inter-personal skills, with strong leadership capable of communicating effectively with other members of the project team, stakeholders & Clients.Significant experience of team management responsibilities including line management and day-to-day operations.Experience of operating as a lead client contact for consultancy services and fostering of excellent relationships with Clients and co-professionals.Technical Experience
Extensive experience on international rail projects, preferably for UK Rail network, in leading, producing, checking and coordinating MEP designs through the entire design and construction cycle for projects.Hands-on experience in leading MEP discipline / team to produce high quality coordinated design solutions and developing technical capabilities of team.Development and delivery of technical design reports, drawings and specifications to the required regulations and quality standards.Good knowledge of H&S legislation, Safe by Design principles and Railway safety.Active role in design peer reviews in alignment with the QMS system.A strong fundamental understanding of all aspects of Rail MEP systems (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, LV power supplies, substations, internal plumbing, utilities etc.).Knowledge of and familiarisation with discipline relevant standards (BS codes, Eurocodes etc.) and software.Qualifications
Qualifications
