Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Freelance SAP MM / P2P Functional Analyst to support procurement and supply chain operations for global data center environments. The consultant will work closely with Google’s ASCII (Supply Chain Solutions) team to design, validate, test, and enhance SAP MM / P2P functionalities across sourcing, buying, logistics, distribution, and returns.

This role requires deep functional expertise in procurement process flows, configuration validation, cross-functional coordination, and end-to-end testing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Process Analysis & Requirement Gathering

Understand global procurement, sourcing, logistics, and buying–selling flows.

Analyze P2P lifecycle : PR → PO → GR → IR , STOs, subcontracting, returns, and special procurement.

Interpret business requirements and ensure SAP solutions align with operational needs.

2. SAP MM / P2P Configuration Validation

Validate configuration for :

Purchasing document types, item categories, schedule lines

Account assignment, source determination, pricing procedures

Release strategies, number ranges, outputs, and partner functions

Review enhancements, custom logic, WRICEF objects, and bug fixes.

Validate cross-functional pricing and procurement scenarios for PO / STO.

3. SIT, UAT, Regression & Performance Testing

Prepare test scenarios, test data, and end-to-end validation steps.

Execute procurement and logistics testing in DEV, SIT, UAT systems.

Support regression cycles ensuring no impact to existing functionalities.

Validate interface / API / IDoc data flows during testing.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

Collaborate with ABAP & Integration teams to translate requirements into functional specs.

Validate logic delivered by developers (enhancements, BAPIs, APIs, IDocs).

Work with data migration teams during mock loads and cutover .

5. Cutover & Hypercare Support

Support configuration transports, master data loads, access validations, and go-live readiness.

Provide hypercare support for procurement, logistics, STO, and inventory processes.

Handover stable functionality to production teams.

6. Communication & Stakeholder Management

Provide proactive daily updates on progress, risks, and dependencies.

Participate in sync calls with onsite / offshore teams.

Manage escalations and ensure timely closure of tasks.

7. Documentation & Compliance

Prepare functional docs : process flows, config docs, test scripts, validation results.

Ensure adherence to governance, audit, and quality standards.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on functional expertise in SAP MM, P2P, procurement, STOs, subcontracting, service procurement, MIGO / MIRO .

Deep understanding of pricing procedures, account determination (VKOA), partner functions, and vendor master.

Ability to validate integration points : IDoc, API, outputs, EDI, interfaces .

Ability to understand ABAP functional specs (no coding required).

Strong communication, requirement analysis, and documentation skills.

Experience supporting SIT, UAT, regression , and cross-functional testing cycles.

Preferred Experience

Experience in large-scale supply chain, logistics, or data center operations.

Working in Agile / hybrid delivery models.

Exposure to multi-vendor environments and distributed teams.
