We are seeking a skilled and experienced VMware Engineer to manage, design, and support our virtual infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for implementing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting VMware environments to ensure performance, availability, and security. This role is critical in supporting our data center and cloud infrastructure initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, configure, manage, and maintain VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter).
- Design and deploy virtual machines, clusters, and templates for production and development workloads.
- Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, and resource optimization.
- Administer VMware features such as vMotion, DRS, HA, vSAN, and NSX.
- Manage patching, updates, and upgrades for ESXi hosts and vCenter servers.
- Implement and manage virtual networking, distributed switches, and storage configurations.
- Troubleshoot issues related to performance, connectivity, and virtualization platform stability.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and best practices in virtualized environments.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to infrastructure design, configurations, and procedures.
- Collaborate with storage, network, cloud, and backup teams for infrastructure integration.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Provide on-call support and respond to critical incidents outside of business hours as needed.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.4-8 years of experience in managing enterprise VMware environments.Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related tools.Experience with VMware vSAN, VMware NSX, or Horizon View is a plus.Hands-on experience with backup and recovery tools for virtual environments (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).Familiarity with storage systems (SAN / NAS), networking (VLANs, firewalls), and Windows / Linux servers.Proficiency in PowerCLI or other scripting tools for automation.Understanding of security hardening in virtual infrastructure.Preferred Qualifications :
VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV) or higher (VCAP, VCDX).Experience with hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud with VMware Cloud on AWS or AVS).Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation platforms like Ansible, Terraform.Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., vROps, SolarWinds, Nagios).Experience with disaster recovery planning using tools like SRM (Site Recovery Manager).Soft Skills :
