🔹 Job Summary
Vidyashilp Academy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Behavioural Counsellor to support students’ emotional, social, and behavioural well-being. The role involves assessing concerns, providing counselling, implementing intervention strategies, and ensuring strict adherence to child protection laws, school SOPs, and ethical counselling practices.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
1. Counselling & Intervention
- Conduct individual and group counselling sessions for students across various grades.
- Assess behavioural concerns and implement Behavioural Intervention Plans (BIPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and support staff.
- Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution support as per school SOPs and child protection protocols.
- Work closely with teachers and special educators to identify and support students at risk.
- Coordinate with families, mental health professionals, and NGOs for external referrals when required.
- Participate in and lead case discussions for complex or sensitive cases, ensuring confidentiality and ethical standards.
2. Training & Awareness
Conduct workshops and awareness sessions for students, staff, and parents on emotional well-being, mental health, stress management, and child safety.Guide school staff on effective behavioural support strategies.Stay updated on child and adolescent psychology, trauma-informed practices, and NEP 2020 recommendations.3. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain confidential records of counselling sessions, interventions, and student progress.Prepare periodic reports for school leadership on behavioural trends and programme effectiveness.Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, including mandatory reporting under POCSO and adherence to school SOPs.🔹 Qualifications
Master’s degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, or related field.Valid counselling certification.4–5 years of experience in school counselling or child / adolescent psychology.Experience handling ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, emotional concerns, and behavioural challenges.Strong understanding of child protection frameworks and legal compliance requirements.🔹 Key Competencies & Skills
