Financial Analyst – Job Description

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, creating reports, forecasting trends, and supporting business decision-making. This role works closely with finance, accounting, and leadership teams to ensure accurate budgeting, planning, and financial performance tracking.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Analysis & Reporting

Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and performance metrics.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Monitor key financial indicators and provide insights to management.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Track budget variances and provide explanations for deviations.

Support scenario planning and financial modeling.

3. Data Modeling & Insights

Build and maintain financial models (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).

Interpret data trends and provide recommendations for business improvement.

Conduct cost-benefit and ROI analyses.

4. Business Support

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial inputs.

Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives, investments, and projects.

Review financial performance of departments and products.

5. Compliance & Documentation

Ensure financial practices comply with GAAP and company policies.

Prepare documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.

Maintain accurate and organized financial records.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

Strong proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros preferred).

Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.

Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and BI tools.

Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
