DataWorks is hiring a senior-level InDesign professional with deep expertise in book production for international publishers. This role is for someone who understands long-form documents, production stability, and design logic—not just software operation.

What You Will Do

Build structurally stable, print-ready book layouts from raw manuscripts, artwork, and style briefs.

Create production-safe templates from design drafts—translating sample pages or design intentions into scalable, correction-resistant InDesign systems.

Establish and maintain typographic rhythm, spacing logic, grid systems, and page architecture across multi-chapter documents.

Solve real production issues such as reflow failures, image–text conflicts, baseline inconsistencies, and layout stability problems.

Ensure prepress-clean output that behaves predictably during export, colour conversion, and print workflows.

Apply an advanced understanding of colour—using palettes, contrast, and tonal hierarchy intelligently for clarity and aesthetics.

Work closely with editors, QA, illustrators, and project managers to ensure design integrity and consistent quality.

Deliver files that can withstand multiple editorial rounds without breaking structure.

What You Must Bring

4+ years of proven experience in book layout and long-document production.

Ability to engineer InDesign files that remain stable through corrections, artwork updates, and multi-stage reviews.

Strong grasp of typography, visual hierarchy, white space, and page balance for both text-heavy and illustrated books.

Expertise in diagnosing and resolving structural layout issues at the root (not with cosmetic fixes).

High accuracy, production discipline, and understanding of global publishing expectations.

Nice to Have

Illustrator (diagram cleanup, vector refinement)

Photoshop (image optimisation, tonal corrections)

EPUB / Accessible PDF experience

InDesign automation or GREP-based efficiency techniques
