Director / Head - Admissions & Outreach – University of Aberdeen, India Campus

Location : Mumbai, India

Department : Admissions & Outreach

Reporting to : Chief Operating Officer – India Campus

Employment Type : Full-time

About the University and the Role

Founded more than five centuries ago, the University of Aberdeen is a leading research institution that drives innovation and prepares students for future careers. It is ranked 2nd in Scotland and 12th in the UK in the 2025 Guardian University Guide, and is listed among the top 250 universities worldwide in the 2025 QS and Times Higher Education rankings.

The University of Aberdeen will open its Mumbai campus in Powai in September 2026. At launch, it will offer six programmes : four-year undergraduate degrees in Computing, Data Science, Economics, and Business Management, along with one-year master’s degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Business Administration.

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to head our admissions and outreach function. This is a pivotal role responsible for achieving student recruitment goals, shaping admissions strategy, and ensuring a seamless and inclusive admissions experience for prospective students across India and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive admissions strategy aligned with the university’s growth, quality, and diversity goals.
  • Achieve annual enrollment targets and monitor performance against institutional objectives.
  • Oversee the full admissions lifecycle, including engaging with prospective students and families, evaluating, selecting and enrolling candidates.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the admissions and outreach team to ensure high service standards and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and execute campaigns that attract strong candidates.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, education consultants, and agents across India.
  • Establish and manage systems for lead generation, tracking, nurturing, and reporting;

oversee data collectionand tele-counselling activities.

  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to support innovative student acquisition strategies.
  • Plan and deliver promotional activities such as education fairs, seminars, workshops, and school outreach programmes to strengthen brand presence.
  • Ensure consistent brand representation across digital, print, and on-ground campaigns.
  • Present regular reports on campaign performance, admissions pipeline, and outreach outcomes to senior management.
  • Use admissions data and insights to improve conversion rates and guide strategic decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and implement the admissions policies and procedures in line with University’s goals and principles.
  • Travel extensively and represent the university at national and international events and education forums.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business management, education, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in student admissions and recruitment in premium higher education institutions.
  • Extensive experience in student admissions and recruitment across India, with deep regional insights.

  • Data-Driven Decision-making : Proficiency in analysing admissions and marketing data to guide strategy and improve conversion rates.
  • Communication & Presentation : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
  • Technology Proficiency : Comfortable using CRM systems, admissions management platforms, and digital marketing tools.
  • Problem Solving : Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to address complex challenges and drive solutions.
