Experience - 10 Years in automation for special purpose machines in manufacturing.

At least 5 years in a leadership / managerial role .

Experience in switchgear / electrical product manufacturing is highly desirable

Job Location - Mumbai - Dombivali

Qualification - B.E / B-Tech (Mechanical is preferred / Mechatronics / Automation)

Master s degree is an advantage.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Manager with a strong mechanical background to lead automation initiatives for Special Purpose Machines (SPM) in low voltage switchgear product manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of PLC programming sensors pneumatics hydraulics and material feeding systems . He / She will manage a team of around 20 engineers and technicians ensuring the successful design development and implementation of automation solutions to improve productivity quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Lead automation projects for design development installation and maintenance of special purpose machines in low voltage switchgear manufacturing.

Drive continuous improvement in production processes through automation and advanced manufacturing techniques.

Develop and optimize PLC logic HMI interfaces motion control and sensor integration for machines.

Design troubleshoot and optimize pneumatic hydraulic and material feeding systems in coordination with mechanical and electrical teams.

Ensure machine safety standards (IEC ISO UL) compliance in design and implementation.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production quality and R&D to deliver reliable automation solutions.

Manage 20-member team of automation engineers technicians and maintenance staff including training mentoring and performance management.

Vendor coordination for automation components machine integration and third-party system upgrades.

Ensure timely project delivery within defined budget quality and safety standards .

Trroubleshoot complex machine breakdowns and lead root cause analysis for long-term fixes.

Keep updated with latest Industry 4.0 IoT robotics and smart manufacturing technologies for adoption.

Technical Expertise

Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens Allen Bradley Schneider etc.) .

Proficiency in sensors actuators SCADA HMI and industrial communication protocols .

Deep understanding of pneumatic hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems .

Hands-on experience in material feeding pick-and-place conveyors and robotic integration .

Familiarity with machine design fundamentals CAD tools and mechanical troubleshooting .

Leadership & Soft Skills :

Ability to lead mentor and motivate a 20-member team .

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Excellent problem-solving decision-making and analytical skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
