SAP Solution Architect – MM / WM Experience : 12–17 Years

Role Overview

Gyansys is seeking an experienced and highly hands-on SAP MM / WM Solution Architect to lead solution design, delivery governance, and execution across Procurement, Inventory Management, and Warehouse Management functions.

The role requires strong functional expertise in SAP MM and WM , end-to-end ownership of solution delivery, and active involvement in presales and practice development initiatives.

This role includes Solution & Delivery Ownership (≈75%) and Practice Development & Presales (≈25%) .

Key Responsibilities

1. Solutioning & Delivery Ownership (≈75%)

Lead end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of SAP MM / WM solutions across implementation, rollout, upgrade, and enhancement projects.

Conduct requirement workshops, process mapping, blueprinting, and solution validation across procurement and warehouse operations.

Provide hands-on configuration in MM (P2P) and WM (inbound, outbound, internal warehouse operations).

Define integration design between MM / WM and EWM, SD, PP, QM, and FI.

Create functional specifications, collaborate with technical teams, and ensure RICEFW readiness.

Oversee testing cycles (SIT / UAT), defect management, cutover planning, and post-go-live support.

Ensure delivery excellence through solution governance, risk management, and adherence to SAP best practices.

Support business stakeholders in optimizing supply chain and warehouse processes.

2. Practice Development & Presales (≈25%)

Develop reusable solution templates, accelerators, documents, and best-practice frameworks for MM / WM.

Support presales activities including RFIs / RFPs, customer presentations, scoping discussions, and estimation.

Work closely with Sales & Delivery Leadership in shaping new opportunities and solution proposals.

Mentor team members and lead internal capability-building initiatives for MM / WM practice growth.

Technical Expertise Required

SAP MM (Materials Management)

Procure-to-Pay (P2P) end-to-end process

Purchasing process : PR, PO, Contracts, Scheduling Agreements

Vendor evaluation, release strategy, source list, quota arrangement

Inventory management, MIGO processes, reservations, transfer postings

Material valuation, account determination, pricing procedures

Integration with FI, SD, PP, QM, WM

SAP WM (Warehouse Management)

Warehouse structure setup : Storage types, sections, storage bins

Putaway, picking, replenishment, stock transfer & internal warehouse movements

Transfer orders, movement types, picking strategies

Batch management & handling unit management

WM-MM and WM-SD integration

Physical inventory and cycle counting

Knowledge of RF processes (advantage)

Preferred Skills

Hands-on experience in S / 4HANA MM / WM conversion or greenfield projects.

Exposure to EWM (good-to-have).

Understanding of warehouse automation, scanning devices, or RFID solutions.

Experience working in multi-country rollout environments.

Education

Bachelor’s / Master’s in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
