Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Exadata Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain our Exadata infrastructure. This role involves end-to-end ownership of Exadata builds—from planning and installation to operational support and handoff to DBA teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced with Oracle Exadata lifecycle management in enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Exadata Deployment & Architecture

Lead the deployment of new Exadata systems, including farm design and capacity planning.

Prepare and manage installation artifacts such as CPFs (Change Tickets) and OEDA configurations .

Finalize system hostnames and IP addresses following network allocation.

Update DNS entries for all Exadata components and spine / leaf switches.

2. Pre-Installation Activities

Open Oracle Service Requests (SRs) and upload OEDA / OECA documentation.

Run CheckIP scripts and upload results to Oracle SRs.

Create CRs / CPFs for site teams to install spine switches.

Coordinate with Oracle to configure spine switches.

3. Rack Installation Preparation

Submit RITMs for multiracking activities.

Create CRs for Oracle to perform EIS / 1ENG (one per day).

Create RITMs for site teams to install Oracle / Cisco management switches.

4. System Build (OneCommand)

Execute OneCommand to build the Exadata database environment.

5. Onboarding & Configuration

Run Ansible automation to configure Exadata components.

Onboard components into :

ASR (Auto Service Request)

CMS

OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager)

6. Pre-Handover to DBA Team

Run Exacheck and upload output to Oracle SRs.

Perform LTS (Long-Term Support) checks.

Ensure all required documentation and health checks are completed prior to handoff.

7. Operational Support

Create and manage SRs, CRs, and RITMs for issues or break / fix activities.

Collect diagnostic data for Oracle SRs across hardware, OS, and database layers.

Conduct continuous follow-up on active SRs to ensure timely resolution.

Coordinate maintenance windows and downtime with Oracle and DBA teams.

Add newly built Exadata systems to OEM monitoring.
