Role Overview
The Legal Head will be responsible for leading the company’s legal, compliance, and contractual affairs. This role requires strong business acumen, an understanding of corporate laws, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with leadership, investors, and external counsel to safeguard the company’s interests while supporting growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all legal matters, including corporate governance, contracts, IP, employment, and regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with clients, vendors, and partners.
- Advise leadership on strategic decisions, risk mitigation, and new regulatory developments.
- Manage corporate secretarial compliance (Board meetings, ROC filings, ESOPs, etc.).
- Liaise with external counsel for litigation, IP filings, due diligence, and M&A transactions.
- Maintain compliance frameworks under applicable laws such as Companies Act, IT Act, Labour laws, FEMA, and Data Protection norms.
- Support fundraising and investment activities including term sheets, SHA, and SSA negotiation.
- Develop internal policies on privacy, ethics, and anti-bribery.
Requirements
LLB degree from a reputed university;CS qualification is a plus.
8–10 years of post-qualification experience, ideally with exposure to startup or technology sectors. Minimum 2-4 years experience in start up.Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, and contract law.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities.Ideal Profile
