Piping Design Engineer

Summary of the Position :

Responsible for executing piping design using SP3D and other 2D / 3D CAD tools, ensuring compliance with ASME and piping standards. The role includes designing piping layouts and supports, preparing engineering drawings, reviewing vendor documents, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate and optimized piping designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Use SP3D, PDMS, E3D, MicroStation, and AutoCAD for piping design and modeling.
• Design piping systems, pipe supports, and pipe layouts as per ASME standards.
• Apply knowledge of materials, piping codes, and industry standards in design work.
• Coordinate with Process, Civil / Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation departments to ensure design compatibility.
• Prepare 2D CAD drawings and model equipment clips.
• Locate, design, and model pipe supports for stress-analyzed and non-stress-analyzed lines.
• Collaborate with Stress Engineers and Support Engineers for optimal solutions.
• Review vendor drawings and provide technical comments.
• Extract and check piping isometrics.
• Prepare plot plans, nozzle orientation drawings, platform drawings, structural details, and GADs.
• Maintain a cooperative working attitude and support cross-functional teamwork.

Technical Skills :

Position can be based at both Chennai or Bangalore.
