About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Stores Manager to oversee high-volume, multi-category inventory operations including Food and Beverages, Perishables and Non-perishables, and non-food items.
Ideal candidates would need prior experience of working in large-format-volume retail / stores / warehouse management (FMCG, retail, e-commerce fulfilment, airline catering, or hospitality).
Responsibilities
- The Stores Manager will be responsible for receiving, storing and issuing supplies required for day-to-day Airline and Institutional catering operations.
- The role involves coordinating closely with Operations, Production (Kitchen), Purchase, Receiving, and Finance departments to ensure efficient inventory management, maintain hygiene standards, and support seamless workflow across all departments.
Inventory & Stock Management
Receive, store, and issue supplies and equipment as per operational requirements.Verify all goods received against purchase orders, delivery challans, and invoices.Monitor and maintain accurate par stock levels and update inventory records monthly.Follow established standards for receiving and issuing stock.Maintain clear, organized, and up-to-date records of stock, requisitions, invoices, and consumption.Store Operations & Documentation
Conduct routine inspections to ensure upkeep and adherence to hygiene regulations.Ensure all store requisition forms are properly signed and recorded in the Inventory / Materials Management System (MMS).Conduct physical stock audits regularly and reconcile discrepancies with system records.Coordination & Vendor Management
Work closely with the Purchasing department to order and receive supplies and equipment.Troubleshoot vendor delivery issues and follow up on returns or discrepancies.Health, Safety & Continuous Improvement
Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, especially relating to food and beverage storage.Implement strategies to reduce wastage, spoilage, and stock obsolescence.Identify slow-moving and non-moving items and recommend actions for improvement.Enhance productivity by optimizing stock levels, improving material handling, and reducing shortages.Qualifications
MBA in Supply Chain Management (SCM) or Stores Management.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of perishable & non-perishable inventory control.Flexibility to respond to dynamic operational requirements.Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.Ability to work in fast-paced, time-sensitive operations.Proficient in SAP - Materials Management Systems (MMS).Good understanding of supply chain and stores management procedures.Strong computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, SAP).Good negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Pay range and compensation package
INR 10-12 lakhs per annum, based on experience and qualifications. However, salary is not a benchmark for the best-suited candidate, and exceptional candidates may be offered compensation commensurate with their skills, expertise, and overall fit for the role.
