Freelance Senior QA Engineer (Digital Commerce Projects)

Our client, a British footwear and clothing brand is looking to engage with Senior Quality Assurance Engineer.

Roles & Responsibilities

Lead the QA lifecycle for digital commerce initiatives , developing and executing detailed test plans and test cases for platforms such as SAP Hybris Commerce, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and similar systems.

Perform end-to-end manual and automated testing to validate functionality, performance, usability, and security across web and mobile commerce experiences.

Design, build, and maintain automated test suites using tools and frameworks like Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, and BrowserStack to support continuous testing and faster release cycles.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams —developers, UX / UI designers, product managers, business analysts, and global stakeholders—to ensure high-quality deliverables and timely defect resolution.

Identify, document, prioritise, and track defects , ensuring clear communication with engineering teams and driving quality standards throughout the development process.

Drive QA process improvements , leveraging data insights, optimising test coverage, enhancing automation maturity, and contributing to a culture of agility, innovation, and customer-centric digital commerce delivery.

Skills Required

Strong experience in digital commerce platforms , especially SAP Hybris Commerce, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or equivalent enterprise commerce systems.

Advanced proficiency in QA methodologies , including functional, regression, performance, security, and end-to-end testing for web and mobile commerce applications.

Hands-on expertise with automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, and Browser Stack, with the ability to build and maintain scalable automation suites.

Solid understanding of defect management practices , with the ability to create detailed defect reports, track issues effectively, and collaborate with engineering teams for resolution.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills , with the ability to use data and insights to enhance test coverage, optimise processes, and improve product quality.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills , enabling effective coordination with global teams including developers, product managers, UX / UI, and business stakeholders.
