Investment Research Analyst - Banking & Finance

Position : Equity Research Analyst – BFSI (Buy-Side)

Location : Mumbai

Experience : ~10 years total experience with 5–6 years in BFSI research

Qualification : MBA (Finance) / CA

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced BFSI Analyst to join our buy-side investment team. The role will involve end-to-end sector coverage and close coordination with the Fund Manager on portfolio construction, tracking, and strategy. The ideal candidate should possess strong research depth across both lending and non-lending financials, with a proven record of generating actionable investment ideas and contributing to portfolio returns.

Candidates from rated sell-side firms or reputed institutions are also welcome.

Key Responsibilities :

• Reporting directly to the Fund Manager, work closely on portfolio creation, tracking, and review.
• Conduct in-depth fundamental and valuation research across BFSI (lending and non-lending) – including banks, NBFCs, insurance, broking, fintech, and AMCs.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, perform scenario / sensitivity analyses, and monitor key valuation metrics.
• Track sectoral developments, regulatory changes, macro trends, and quarterly results for portfolio and watchlist companies.
• Provide results updates and actionable insights to the Fund Manager and investment committee.
• Contribute to investment strategy formulation aimed at optimizing portfolio performance and maximizing returns.
• Prepare research notes, quarterly updates, investment memos, and presentations for internal and client discussions.
• Liaise with company managements, industry experts, and market participants for differentiated insights and investment theses.
• Support the team in identifying alpha-generating opportunities through bottom-up research and data-driven evaluation.
