Indirect Tax Manager

Qualification - CA

Experience - 3+ years

Designation - Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager (depending on experience)

Job location - Mumbai, Malad (work from office, 5 days a week)

The candidate is responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with all aspects of indirect taxes. This role involves preparing tax returns, ensuring timely payments, handling tax assessments and audits, and providing strategic insights to optimize the organization’s tax position.

Preparation / Review and filing of monthly / quarterly / annual GST Return (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.)

Reconciliation of input tax credit (ITC) with GSTR 2B and vendor reconciliation.

Handle GST Litigation, including drafting responses to notices, representing the company before tax authorities, and coordinating with legal consultants.

Manage GST registration, amendments, and cancellations

Ensuring timely and accurate payment of GST liabilities.

Maintain up-to-date Knowledge of changes in indirect tax laws and integrate them into company compliance policies.

Coordinate with the finance team to ensure accurate tax accounting and reconciliation.

Ensuring proper documentation and maintenance of records for all tax related- transactions.

Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies to optimize tax liabilities.

Working closely with the finance team to ensure accurate accounting of tax liabilities

Implement best practices for indirect tax management to minimize risk and enhance accuracy.

Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for indirect tax processes, including compliance, reporting and reconciliation.

Liaising with external tax consultants, advisors, and regulatory bodies as needed.

Automation of routine tasks related to GST compliances

Attention to details and high level of accuracy.

Accounting & Software Proficiency : Tally

Understanding of electronic filing and reporting requirements for different jurisdictions.

Tax Planning & Compliance

Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders

Proficiency in Tax software (e.g. Clear tax)
