Automation Test Engineer (Appium)

What will you do :

The Automation Test Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts for web and mobile applications. The role focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of digital solutions through continuous testing, optimization, and integration with CI / CD pipelines. The candidate will leverage strong technical expertise in Appium, WebdriverIO, and API testing tools to improve test coverage, accelerate delivery, and maintain product excellence.

Responsibilities :

Develop and maintain automated test scripts for mobile (iOS & Android) and web platforms.

Perform API testing using tools such as Postman and RestAssured.

Integrate automated tests with Jenkins CI / CD pipelines.

Execute test suites on BrowserStack and other cloud-based platforms.

Analyze and debug test failures, providing root cause analysis and actionable resolutions.

Collaborate closely with developers, QA leads, and product teams to enhance software quality.

Implement and maintain BDD frameworks (Cucumber with TypeScript / Java).

Mentor junior QA team members and promote automation best practices.

Drive process improvements and automation optimization initiatives.

Functional / Technical Competencies :

Test Automation using Selenium, Cypress, and Appium (Android & iOS)

API Testing using Postman, RestAssured, and SoapUI

Programming Languages : TypeScript, Core Java, Python

Automation Frameworks : WebdriverIO, Mocha, Jest, JUnit, TestNG

BDD Frameworks : Cucumber with TypeScript / Java

CI / CD Integration : Jenkins Pipeline setup and BrowserStack execution

Mobile Testing Tools : Android Studio, XCUITest, ADB commands

Version Control & Collaboration : Git, JIRA, Confluence

Strong understanding of mobile app architecture, locators, gestures, and synchronization

Skilled in debugging, troubleshooting, and test reporting (Allure / ExtentReports)

Qualification & Experience :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

3–6 years of experience in Quality Assurance.

Strong hands-on experience in automation testing, API testing, and mobile / web testing.

2–3 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC).

Certifications :

ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation or Advanced level). (optional).

Selenium WebDriver / Appium certification (optional).
