Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Vice President, Shrinkage Analytics / Loss Prevention Analytics Leader!
In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for analyzing, identifying, and mitigating retail shrinkage from data-driven perspectives. The incumbent will use predictive modeling, machine learning, and loss prevention methodologies to optimize operational efficiency and protect revenue. This role requires combining deep analytical capabilities with practical shrinkage prevention strategies to deliver measurable improvements in shrinkage performance
Responsibilities
- Analyzing POS transactional data, inventory discrepancies to detect shrink patterns and potential shrinkage risk
- Performing complex analytical work to deliver insight and enable improvements in overall shrinkage performance
- Developing predictive models and dashboards to proactively identify high-risk stores, products, or time periods
- Providing actionable insights to store operations, supply chain and finance teams to reduce inventory inaccuracies
- Completing investigations into shrinkage trends to engage teams across the business on their unknown loss
- Utilizing analytical skills to ensure department uses a data-led approach to mitigate
Key challenges
Identifying opportunities for shrinkage reduction by analyzing anomalies in inventory flow, POS transactionsDeveloping action plans and leading on solutions to deliver measurable shrinkage reduction benefitsTracking key metrics : shrinkage rate, theft rate, damaged goods rate, inventory accuracyHighlighting process issues, compliance gaps and opportunities on how to reduce shrinkageEffectively using data to identify opportunities for shrinkage reduction and developing action plansDeveloping and maintaining predictive models using machine learning techniques (Python, R)Implementing fraud detection algorithms and anomaly detection models to flag suspicious activityIntegrating BI reports with loss prevention techniques and designing scalable EDW solutionsSupporting Project Managers to deliver change work projects, valuing potential opportunity and risksLead, mentor, and inspire cross-functional analytics teams to deliver excellenceFoster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.Support hiring, training, and career development of analytics talent.Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in retail analytics, loss prevention, or supply chain analyticsStrong analytical skills with experience in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis toolsKnowledge of retail shrink drivers, fraud detection techniques, and loss prevention best practicesExcellent written & verbal communication skills to translate complex data insightsProficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation;experience with data warehousing tools
Advanced Excel skills (VBA, pivot tables);knowledge of BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
Experience building predictive models, statistical analysis, and ML applications in retailFamiliarity with POS systems, ERP platforms, inventory management systems, retail analyticsKnowledge of data visualization and creating self-serve dashboards for stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to solve ambiguous problems in structured, hypothesis-driven wayExperience with fraud analytics, transaction monitoring, detecting cashier behavior patternsStrong understanding of KPIs : shrinkage rate, sell-through rate, theft rate, damaged goods rateAbility to design metrics that evaluate business health and team success, including ETL developmentPreferred qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business AnalyticsCertifications in data analytics, loss prevention (e.G., LPC - Loss Prevention Certified)Experience with AI / ML-powered fraud detection, RFID tracking, IoT-based inventory monitoringBackground in organized retail crime (ORC) analysis, e-commerce fraud, or digital loss preventionFamiliarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake) and big data toolsKnowledge of predictive analytics : time series forecasting, clustering, regression, anomaly detectionWhy join Genpact?
