We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Designer to join our growing platform team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Backbase Grand Central.
Backbase Grand Central is a critical component of Backbase’s Banking Platform, empowering banks and fintechs to seamlessly connect and orchestrate data flows across their ecosystems. As the Product Designer for Grand Central, you'll collaborate with product managers and engineers to shape the product's future. Your main job is to create a powerful and intuitive web interface that helps technical users easily configure, monitor, and manage complex integration workflows.
Meet the job
- Own the user experience for the Grand Central web app, from initial research to final UI design and testing. The product design journey for this platform is just getting started, and you will be responsible for laying the foundational design principles that will guide its future.
- Design for a technical audience, translating complex user needs into simple, elegant interfaces for managing APIs and data flows.
- Conduct user research through interviews, surveys, and tests to inform your design decisions and validate new features.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define strategy, and ensure your designs are feasible and built to a high standard.
- Create prototypes using tools like Figma to communicate your ideas and test them with users.
- Champion a user-centric approach, making sure all design decisions are backed by data and a deep understanding of user problems.
- Maintain design consistency by working with Backbase’s design system. We have a great creative culture in our design team with over 60 UI / UX designers and researchers working across the backbase organisation.
How about you
5+ years of experience as a Product Designer, with a strong focus on web applications for a B2B or enterprise audience.A portfolio that demonstrates your expertise in designing complex, data-intensive web applications. Experience with iPaaS, BPM, or other developer-centric tools is a significant plus.Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.Experience conducting user research and a strong ability to translate research findings into actionable design decisions.A strategic mindset with the ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.A passion for solving complex problems and a deep empathy for technical users.Experience in Fintech / Banking is a strong plus.
