Garment Technician

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization :

Manage all fit related issues regarding fit on dummy - live model -3 D, measurements and workmanship, development of all products manufactured within the assigned regions to ensure excellence of product.

Manage supplier to get products Right First Time with the correct technical design / fit and production outcome considering quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage sample approval for technical compliance and correct application of the C&A Supplier Quality Manual guidelines in areas of product speciality.

Follow the global quality standards that deliver “Best Value for Money” and meet the customer’s fashion, fit, quality and safety expectations at all times. Meet global standards for product development, product safety, quality and conformity are consistently met from local suppliers and PU’s.

Responsible for Supplier Product Development processes to ensure "right first time" sample creation. Support product development process and procedures, inc. understanding the C&A PLM Tech Pack, block pattern library and style pattern creation, target fit standards and fit assessment and pattern grading to ensure fit continuity throughout all product areas of specialty.

Guide and develop supplier technical capabilities to achieve customer requirements.

Manage fit issues, find the root causes of the problems and apply the solution to the defective samples

Engineer new products effectively to improve supplier efficiencies and reduce the product costs and apply best practice thinking and practices in order to control, assess and maintain the quality standards of C&A products.

Support EU Product Development teams and give guidance to Teck Pack creation, risk assessment, safety and testing requirements, block pattern alignment and styling according to Designer expectations.

Conduct investigations and provide feedback to line manager when quality related issues arise relating to sample development. This may come from customer returns, CSR etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Good knowledge of garment and pattern construction

Good knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, pattern, sewing techniques, graphics and trim

Strong knowledge of of textiles, Manufacturing Control Processes, current finishing and engineering techniques

Good knowledge of 3D Development Systems

Good commercial awareness of industry standard quality levels and customer expectations

Base knowledge of laboratory test requirements and testing procedures

Passionate about product execution by optimizing quality processes

Good problem solving and analytical skills as well as critical thinking and solution driven focus including encouraging the same in others with a forward-looking mindset

Strong communication, both written and verbal

Good analytical and problem-solving skills as well as critical thinking

Good command in English, especially in manufacturing and engineering

Good knowledge of MS Office Suite, PDM / PLM (Product Data Management / Product Lifecycle Management)

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications :

Professional qualifications in Design, Industrial Engineering or other related subject

Good experience and knowledge in Design, product development and manufacturing process

Technical knowledge in pattern making, grading and workmanship along with a sound knowledge of Industrial Engineering and Lean Manufacturing practices
