Job Summary :
We are looking to hire a Cost Estimator who can independently prepare BOMs (Bill of Materials) and BOQs (Bill of Quantities) for retail fixtures, POSMs, signage, and other display fabrication projects.
The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of materials, production processes (acrylic, MDF, metal, printing, etc.) , and should be able to derive accurate costing for fabrication and installation.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare detailed BOQ / BOM based on design drawings, sketches, or client briefs.
- Accurately estimate project costs including materials, fabrication, hardware, printing, packaging, logistics, and installation.
- Coordinate with the design, production, and purchase teams to validate material consumption and feasibility.
- Maintain and regularly update a costing database of materials and vendor rates.
- Prepare quotation sheets and cost comparison reports for management review.
- Evaluate client RFQs and tenders and provide cost breakdowns within deadlines.
- Support project managers by offering value engineering solutions for cost optimization.
- Ensure costings are realistic, competitive, and aligned with company profit margins.
Required Skills & Knowledge :
Strong understanding of retail furniture, display fabrication, and POSM materials (Acrylic, MDF, MS, SS, Glass, Printing, etc.)Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets for cost modeling and formula-based estimation.Knowledge of BOM / BOQ preparation and basic drawing interpretation (AutoCAD familiarity is a plus).Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent coordination and communication skills across teams.Qualifications :
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Design / Architecture / Interior / Retail Design or equivalent.3–6 years of experience in cost estimation for the retail display or fabrication industry.
