Role Overview :
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically sound Lead Oracle DBA to join our infrastructure team at our Mumbai location. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience managing enterprise Oracle databases with deep expertise in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and GoldenGate. As a lead, you will be responsible for overseeing database administration, ensuring high availability and performance, implementing DR strategies, and mentoring a team of DBAs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle database environments (versions 11g, 12c, 19c).
- Perform routine health checks, maintenance, patching, and performance tuning.
- Ensure database performance, security, availability, and scalability across production and non-production environments.
- Set up, manage, and monitor Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) for high availability.
- Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard (physical and logical standby) for disaster recovery and failover capabilities.
- Manage backups and recovery using RMAN, ensuring data integrity and recoverability.
- Set up and manage Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data replication across heterogeneous systems.
- Troubleshoot GoldenGate issues, configure trails, and tune performance for real-time syncing and minimal latency.
- Monitor database systems proactively using tools like OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager), Nagios, or similar.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and tune SQL queries, indexes, and memory settings.
- Provide root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and long-running queries.
- Implement security best practices including user management, auditing, encryption, and data masking.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal security Leadership & Mentorship :
- Lead a team of Oracle DBAs, managing workload distribution, performance reviews, and technical mentoring.
- Define and enforce DBA best practices, procedures, and standard operating documentation (SOPs).
- Collaborate with application teams, system administrators, and storage teams to ensure end-to-end system performance.
- Provide L3 support for database incidents and participate in on-call rotations.
- Support development and testing teams by managing database refreshes, clones, and performance Skills & Qualifications :
- 8+ years of Oracle DBA experience in large, complex environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and GoldenGate.
- Proficiency with UNIX / Linux shell scripting for automation and monitoring tasks.
- Expertise in troubleshooting complex performance and availability issues.
- Experience in upgrades, migrations, and patching of Oracle databases across versions.
- Deep understanding of Oracle architecture, memory structures, data files, redo logs, control files, and undo segments.
