Characterization Development Team Lead

Position : Team Lead, CDL

Roles & Responsibilities as advanced MS supervisor :

• Plan for the experiments for biochemical characterization of proteins using mass spectrometry methods and HOS methods.
• To ascertain amino acid sequence, identify and quantify post-translational modifications such as glycosylation, oxidation, deamidation etc.
• To determine intact and subunit mass, identify disulphide bond linkages, investigate fragments and sequence variants.
• To determine higher-order structure and secondary and tertiary structure
• To determine higher-order structure using HDX-MS technology (desirable) Process acquired data using advanced MS software tools and generate reports
• Monitor and review the documentation of experiment details (procedure, controls, analyses, and observation of the experiments) are captured accurately and completely following good documentation practices in electronic laboratory notebook, as applicable.
• Communication of data to cross-functional teams, compilation of data for reports and participate in internal group meetings. Perform data trending on a regular basis.
• Prepare documents such as technical reports, method development reports, protocols, instrument operation procedures, author change controls and deviations.
• Perform literature survey of assays, support in experimental design based on historical data and troubleshooting of experiments
• Ensure maintenance of equipment and instruments in coordination with instrumentation team and support installation of new equipment and prepare Equipment / Instrument operating procedures
• Regularly track inventory of consumables / critical reagents and making sure they are ordered and support in laboratory maintenance
• Train new or fellow scientists for good laboratory practices especially for the general upkeep of the instruments.

Education :

⦁ M.Sc / M.Tech in life sciences such as biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, analytical chemistry or closely related field with 8-12 years of research experience or PhD with up to 3-5 years of experience
