Role Description
The VP – Business Development will lead the growth engine of The Passion Project. This is a leadership role responsible for setting strategy, driving new client acquisition, developing partnerships, expanding revenue streams, and ensuring sustainable growth in line with company objectives. The person will own the full lifecycle from pipeline to deal closure, and also mentor / lead the BD / sales team.
Responsibilities
- Strategy & Planning
- Develop a multi-year business development and growth strategy aligned with the company's vision, domain focus, and service offerings
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities (verticals, geographies, digital formats, content-based offerings)
- Set annual / quarterly / monthly revenue targets, pipeline goals, and KPIs for the BD function
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and shifts in media / content / digital space
- Lead Generation & Pipeline Management
- Oversee the generation of high-quality leads via network, events, partnerships, RFP responses, proposals, pitch decks, inbound-outbound efforts
- Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities — prioritize deals, track progress, forecast revenue
- Ensure robust qualification criteria and gating to focus resources on high-potential prospects
- Client Acquisition & Deal Closure
- Own and lead high-stakes pitches and proposals
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, contracts, and revenue-sharing models
- Coordinate internal teams (creative, production, content, tech) to design tailored solutions and proposals
Qualifications
10+ years experience in business development / sales / growth roles in the media / digital / content / creative / advertising spaceProven track record of winning large / complex deals with corporates, government, large brandsStrong relationships / networks in relevant industries / media / brand / agency circlesStrong execution orientation, grit, ability to lead from the frontHow to Apply
