About the Role
We're supporting a feasibility project evaluating how quantum gravimeters and magnetometers can be used to detect subsurface defects in transport infrastructure. You'll lead the physics modelling, simulation work, and sensor interpretation, collaborating closely with a Data Scientist, Geophysicist, and an academic quantum expert.
What You'll Do
- Build forward models for quantum gravimeter and magnetometer responses
- Create physics-accurate simulations and synthetic datasets
- Analyse sensor behaviour, noise characteristics, and environmental effects
- Support calibration and validation work with partner labs (remote collaboration)
- Define detection thresholds and contribute to the final feasibility report
