Position Summary
The FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) Manager at Aligned Cardio plays a critical role in the organization's financial management and strategic planning across a multi-entity, healthcare services platform . This role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and operational analytics for cardiology practices, ASCs, and diagnostic facilities.
The FP&A Manager will collaborate closely with accounting, RCM, and operations teams and act as a key financial liaison to senior leadership. The role will interface regularly with the Power BI Manager to support data-driven decision-making and will require strong familiarity with healthcare financial operations , including Athenahealth and Sage Intacct systems . This position reports to the Controller, with project oversight by the CFO, and requires working in the U.S. Eastern Time (EST) zone.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning, Forecasting, and Reporting
- Lead the annual capital and operating budget process across all entities, including physician practices, ASCs, and diagnostic centers.
- Maintain and refine multi-entity financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
- Develop and distribute monthly location-level reporting packages to operational and clinical leaders.
- Prepare monthly financial statements for investors, management, and physician partners.
- Manage lender and covenant compliance reporting in accordance with financing agreements.
- Develop quarterly Board Finance Committee materials summarizing trends, projections, and performance highlights.
- Prepare financial content for quarterly partner and investor meetings .
- Generate monthly physician productivity and service-line margin reports using data from Athena and Sage, analyzing provider-level trends and performance.
Cash Flow and Financial Management
Manage and update the 13-week cash flow forecasting model , providing detailed variance analyses.Identify and communicate financial risks, cost containment opportunities, and margin improvement strategies .Conduct monthly location- and entity-level analysis to guide operational and staffing decisions.Systems and Tools
Utilize Sage Intacct for budgeting, consolidation, reporting, and analysis across the platform.Integrate and reconcile financial and operational data from Athenahealth and other healthcare systems to ensure accuracy and insight in reporting.Partner with the Power BI Manager to develop interactive dashboards for finance, operations, and provider performance.Support automation of financial packages and transition to enhanced analytics tools across the finance function.M&A and Strategic Support
Support financial due diligence for potential acquisitions, including analysis of revenue cycles, payer mix, and physician productivity.Develop pre-close integration models to ensure smooth transition into Sage and Athena systems.Partner with business development to assess key metrics and operational risks of target practices and facilities.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and scenario modeling for senior leadership.Collaborate with accounting to ensure alignment between actual results and forecasts .Assist in responding to audit, compliance, and investor requests for financial data or documentation.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics , or related field required; CPA or CMA designation preferred.Minimum 5 years of progressive FP&A experience , with at least 2 years in a healthcare or multi-site service organization .Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct and exposure to Athenahealth (AthenaOne) or similar EMR / PM platforms required.Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; proficiency with Power BI or other data visualization tools strongly preferred.Strong understanding of healthcare financial drivers , including payer mix, RCM metrics, and provider productivity.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with acute attention to detail.Effective communicator capable of presenting complex financial data to both financial and clinical audiences.Highly organized, proactive, and collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset.Skills Required
