Optical Engineer — Stray Light Analysis (SPEOS & Zemax)

Role :
We are seeking an Optical Engineer-SPEOS (2+ years) with keen interest in stray light analysis using Ansys SPEOS and basic optical system design in Zemax Optics Studio. He / She will be responsible for analyzing optical design, export to SPEOS, and performing stray light in complex optical and illumination systems in SPEOS, ensuring system performance meets stringent imaging and illumination requirements, Generate more optical system design as per client requirements.
Kev Responsibilities :
- Build, validate, and optimize optical models for lens systems, surfaces, optimization and tolerancing in Zemax.
- Perform stray light analysis for imaging, illumination, and optical sensor systems using SPEOS.
- Identify ghost images, scattering, reflections, and diffraction effects in optical designs.
- Develop and validate using SPEOS GPU, use SPEOS material library models for materials and coatings.
- Use these results to propose mitigation strategies (baffles, coatings, surface finishes, apertures, filters).
- Conduct trade-off studies with and without baffles between CPU and GPIJ.
- Generate clear technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and client reviews.
- Stay updated with the latest methodologies and tool capabilities in stray light modeling / simulations.
- Collaborate with senior optical engineers to apply advanced stray light mitigation strategies and integrate findings into product design.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's / Master's degree in Optics or Physics or Photonics or related field.Hands-on experience with stray light analysis using Ansys SPEOS and Zemax Optic Studio (sequential & non-sequential ray tracing).Strong knowledge of non-sequential ray tracing, ghost analysis, scatter modeling.Experience in optical material properties, coatings, and surfaces.Proficiency in CAD integration for opto- mechanical system modeling.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret simulation results.Excellent communication and reporting skills are important.Preferred Qualifications :
Knowledge in automotive lighting, optics, ODX export, mechanical designsFamiliarity with Python for post-processing, automation, or analysis.Hands-on experience with laboratory stray light measurements correlation with simulation results.What We Offer :
