Backdropsource is a leading global eCommerce brand specializing in photography, videography, and event backdrops with operations across multiple international markets. We are expanding our technology team in Coimbatore and are looking for a skilled Shopify Developer to enhance our online storefronts, improve user experience, and drive performance across our global Shopify stores.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Shopify Developer with 3+ years of hands-on expertise in theme development, customization, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will independently manage end-to-end Shopify store development , ensuring high-quality, scalable, and conversion-optimized eCommerce experiences.

You will collaborate closely with our design, marketing, and operations teams to implement new features, optimize for global audiences, and maintain high performance standards across multiple stores.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript .
• Convert Figma / Sketch / Adobe XD designs into pixel-perfect, responsive Shopify storefronts .
• Configure and manage store functionalities — including product catalogs, variants, filters, and checkout flows .
• Integrate and manage third-party apps, CRMs, ERPs, analytics, and APIs (payment gateways, shipping, inventory, etc.).
• Ensure global store compatibility (multi-language, multi-currency, and region-specific tax / shipping rules).
• Optimize store performance using best practices in caching, lazy loading, and code minification .
• Conduct A / B testing and conversion optimization for improving store UX and sales performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Liquid errors, layout issues, and performance bottlenecks .
• Implement SEO best practices (schema markup, redirects, canonical tags, meta optimization).
• Maintain Git-based version control and provide clear documentation for internal teams.

Skills & Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+) .
• Hands-on experience with Shopify REST and GraphQL APIs .
• Understanding of Shopify Plus and its advanced customization capabilities is a plus.
• Proficient with Git / GitHub and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Trello, and Slack .
• Experience with performance optimization tools like Google Lighthouse, GTmetrix, and PageSpeed Insights.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for building clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams .

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of eCommerce UX, conversion rate optimization, and the Shopify ecosystem .
• Experience setting up tracking and analytics tools (GA4, Meta Pixel, GTM).
• Familiarity with Shopify app development using Node.js or React.
• Prior experience working with international Shopify stores and multi-region setups .
• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.
