Job description for Business Development Manager

Business Development Roles & Responsibilities :

  • 5-10 years of experience in sales / business development in financial markets
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of business services and value proposition
  • Researching about listed organisations through the help of websites to identify new leads and potential new markets across India.
  • Researching the needs of companies to identify how our investor relations service offering would fit and bridge their gaps
  • Identifying decision makers like CFO, CEO, MD, Board of Directors and Promoters
  • To develop database, tap and build strong relationships with Stock Broking firms, Corporate & Financial Institutions through Direct Visits, Cold calling and Emailing for a mutually beneficial relation
  • Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings
  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations and sales displays
  • Creating GAP analysis on Investor Relations Management of listed companies and explaining how Valorem can bridge these Gaps through our service offerings
  • Contacting clients to inform them about new developments in the company’s products
  • Developing quotes and proposals
  • Negotiating and renegotiating by phone, email, and in person
  • Developing sales goals for the team and ensuring they are met
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills
  • Develop contacts with trade bodies and associations
  • Reaching out existing and new clients for IR / IB and Communication.
  • Driving the field to achieve the desired results
  • Developing growth strategies and plans
  • Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
  • Negotiating with stakeholders
  • Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs
  • Researching business opportunities and viable income streams
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts
  • Reporting on successes and areas needing improvements
  • Bringing in new clients while retaining existing ones - Source new business as well as manage current one by applying need based theory. Ensure high level of client satisfaction for both new and old. Take timely feedback from client for business improvement
  • Maintain good relationships with clients so that the business can maximize the value of those relationships.
  • Identify key contacts at potential client companies to establish and foster a relationship.
  • Participate in one-on-one meetings with clients to explain services in an effort to guide their choices.
  • Understand the problems and challenges of clients and identify ways the business could better address those needs.
  • Grow the business by identifying new sales and business development opportunities.
  • Seek opportunities to cross-sell or upsell to existing clients.
  • Monitor and assess activities of our competitors to proactively satisfy and retain our clients.
  • Provide excellent service in order to maintain a positive reputation for the business.
  • Resolve any customer complaints in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Set revenue targets and then develop and execute a strategy to meet those.
