State Program Head

Location : Ranchi (for Jharkhand) / Bhubaneswar (for Odisha)
Purpose of the Role : To develop, implement and lead comprehensive state-wide monitoring and evaluation processes for the program to strengthen state government’s public health interventions on RMNCH+A, Nutrition and Infectious diseases by providing evidence-based and timely actionable public health intelligence to project team, partners and state government, ensuring internal accountability of project at all levels and facilitate informed decision / policy making by the relevant state government departments with the view to ensure equitable healthcare outcomes in the state.
Key Deliverables : The Lead (monitoring and evaluation) shall undertake activities represented by, but not limited to, the following to directly support the work of state program head.
- Design and implement a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to monitor the progress of the project against its objectives, syndicated with and to support the state health interventions.
- Anchor periodic data-driven internal program reviews and provide evidence-based insights on the progress of the program, timely identification of gaps in the performance of the program and suggest appropriate remedial measures across all project deliverables at all levels in the state.
- Contribute to state-level reviews of state government in terms of evidence-based progress of the project, systemic performance gaps identified, and suggest evidence-based solutions at all levels at the state.
- Compile periodic progress reports of the program on the prescribed formats at prescribed time intervals for relevant government departments, partners, funders, and internal teams.
- Ensure reliability and validity of all project data through institution of appropriate regular checks and validation processes.
- Closely monitor key performance indicators and regularly analyse data to assess the contribution of the project in achieving its overall goals of creating equitable healthcare access and strengthening the public health delivery system of the state.
- Collaborate closely with project teams at all levels, partners, and appropriate state government departments to ensure that relevant data flows seamlessly across all levels to enable effective project monitoring and evaluation.
- Guide and mentor District and Block teams of the project on strengthening the government public health reporting systems.
- Any other duty as assigned by State Program Head.
Minimum Qualification : Post Graduation in Public Health / Rural Development / Social Work / Development Studies or equivalent from reputed institutions. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience of anchoring large scale data analytics for state / national government.
