Openings for PLM - We are looking for an Skilled and experienced PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) / BOM / Codification Manager to oversee the efficient management of Product data / BOM lifecycle processes and Product definition tables for our Global plants.

The ideal candidate need to have in-depth expertise in SAP Production systems a deep understanding of BOM structures Strong project management skills and excellent communication abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering Manufacturing Operations Purchasing and Material planning and Logistics teams.t Lifecycle Management) / BOM / Codification Manager

Responsibilities

  • BOM Management :

Oversee the creation maintenance and continuous improvement of manufacturing BOMs in SAP for Global Ford plants.

  • Ensure BOMs are validated to stay accurate up-to-date and aligned with product design and manufacturing requirements.
  • Work closely with Product development teams to implement changes in BOM (Engg change management) ensuring smooth transitions from design to production.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for BOM standardization and documentation.
  • SAP System Expertise :
  • Manage SAP BOM configurations including the creation and maintenance of BOM data and structures (e.g. multi-level BOMs variant BOMs).

  • Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot SAP-related issues and support system enhancements.
  • Perform data audits and identify opportunities for process improvements in BOM management within SAP.
  • Provide training and support for internal teams to ensure the efficient use of SAP for BOM-related processes.
  • PLM System Management :
  • Lead the administration and optimization of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.

  • Ensure product data integrity and alignment across various stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Product Development teams to ensure better Engineering Change controls in place with timely and accurate BOM updates.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the PLM system to enhance product data management efficiency.
  • Product definition management :
  • Create and maintain an accurate centralized Product definition / coding structure and related documents ensuring consistency across all Global Plants.

  • Standardize Product definition methods and ensure that product identification and feature categorization processes align with industry standards and internal requirements.
  • Collaborate with Program and Marketing teams to ensure timely and accurate feature deployments to the Sales and Manufacturing Coding tables.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration :
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (Product development Purchasing Manufacturing Materials Planning and Logistics and IT) to ensure BOMs are aligned with material requirements procurement schedules and production needs.

  • Facilitate discussions to resolve discrepancies in BOM data ensuring timely and cost-effective production.
  • Process Improvement Compliance and Data integrity :
  • Lead efforts to streamline and automate BOM processes within SAP to improve efficiency and reduce errors.

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure BOM management effectiveness.
  • Prepare regular reports on BOM accuracy progress and effectiveness of PLM / Product definition tables & production-related issues for management.
  • Participate in audits and Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies regarding data management.
  • Project Management :
  • Lead or contribute to projects involving BOM system enhancements process optimizations or new product introductions.

  • Monitor timelines budgets and resource allocation.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide input into long-term planning and strategy.
  • People Management :
  • Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback conduct performance reviews and offer opportunities for skill development and career growth.

  • Assess training needs for team members design training plans and provide guidance to enhance both technical skills and soft skills.
  • Allocate resources effectively within the team ensuring that workloads are balanced and that team members are fully supported in achieving their objectives.
  • Foster a positive collaborative and high-performance culture within the team motivating members to exceed expectations and maintain high morale
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications & Skills :

  • Educational Requirements :
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering / Technology is preferred

  • Professional certifications in SAP or related systems are a plus.
  • Experience :
  • 12 years of experience in manufacturing BOM management with a focus on SAP systems.

  • Demonstrated experience with SAP modules in an OEM related to production planning (PP) and Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Experience in managing multi-level BOMs and coordinating BOM changes across multiple departments.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) and product data management (PDM) systems is beneficial.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP BOM management processes and configuration.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes material requirements planning (MRP) and production scheduling.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel PowerPoint Word).
  • Strong knowledge of data management principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) is an advantage.
  • Soft Skills :
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
  • Strong leadership abilities and team collaboration skills.
