Chief Information Security Officer

The Gas sector is a cornerstone of national energy infrastructure, where operational continuity and safety are paramount. This role is critical in securing the digital systems that manage gas distribution, pipeline integrity, and SCADA operations. As cyber threats increasingly target energy networks, this position ensures resilience against disruptions that could impact millions of households and industries. The cybersecurity lead will work closely with engineering and operations to embed security into every layer of the gas ecosystem, supporting regulatory compliance and public safety.

This position reports to the Group Chief Information Security Officer (GCISO).

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a robust cybersecurity strategy tailored to the unique operational needs of Adani Total Gas, ensuring the protection of CGD networks and associated infrastructure.

Lead risk management initiatives, including the identification, assessment, and mitigation of cybersecurity risks across industrial, commercial, and residential gas distribution systems.

Establish and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards specific to the energy and gas distribution sector.

Oversee the implementation of advanced threat detection and response systems to safeguard critical assets and data.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cybersecurity measures into ongoing projects, including the development of new CGD networks in various regions.

Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and best practices to enhance the organization’s cybersecurity posture.

Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness programs to educate employees and stakeholders on best practices and emerging threats.

Manage incident response processes, ensuring rapid containment and recovery from cybersecurity incidents.

Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry partners, and cybersecurity vendors.

Provide strategic guidance to the executive team on cybersecurity trends, risks, and investment priorities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Proven track record of 15-20 years in cybersecurity leadership roles, preferably within the energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure sectors.

Extensive experience in risk management, threat mitigation, and regulatory compliance.

Demonstrated expertise in implementing cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or similar.

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or Business Administration is preferred.

Years & Type of Experience

15-20 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on critical infrastructure protection and operational technology (OT) security.

Significant experience in leading cybersecurity programs in large-scale, multi-location organizations.

Domain Expertise

In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity challenges and solutions in the energy and gas distribution sector.

Expertise in securing operational technology (OT) environments, including SCADA systems.

Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements specific to the gas distribution industry.

Digital & Operational Tools

Proficiency in cybersecurity tools and platforms such as SIEM, IDS / IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.

Experience with OT security tools and technologies, including network segmentation and anomaly detection systems.

Familiarity with cloud security platforms and practices.

Leadership Capabilities

Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with a focus on measurable outcomes.

Proven track record of managing large-scale cybersecurity budgets and resources effectively.
