Senior Database Administrator
Experience required : 5 to 8 years
Roles & Responsibilities :
1) Database Administration :
Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database systems, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and schema.
Perform regular backups and recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity.
Manage user access and security for database systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
Implement and maintain database replication and clustering solutions.
Develop and enforce database standards, policies, and procedures.
2) Middleware Administration :
Install, configure, and maintain JBoss and WebSphere application servers.
Monitor application server performance and troubleshoot issues.
Work with development teams to deploy, configure, and manage applications on JBoss and WebSphere.
Ensure middleware security and compliance with organizational policies.
Automate deployment processes and manage configuration using CI / CD tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement middleware solutions.
Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Skills required :
5+ years of experience in database administration, specifically with Oracle databases.
2+ years of experience in middleware administration with JBoss and WebSphere.
Strong knowledge of SQL, PL / SQL, and database performance tuning.
Experience with database backup and recovery tools (RMAN, Data Pump).
Familiarity with middleware concepts, including clustering, load balancing, and session management.
Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
