Category & Business Head – Beauty & Personal Care

This is a rare opportunity to build a beauty marketplace business from zero to one, defining the category blueprint and portfolio strategy.
Role Overview
We are looking for a visionary category leader and business builder to lead business end-to-end. The ideal person lives at the intersection of brand, trends, consumer psychology, product, and business strategy.
This leader will own the complete category strategy and P&L, growth, and long-term scale. As the business head, you will be part of the core management team. You’ll shape what we launch, how we price, how we win, and how we build an unforgettable consumer experience across beauty and personal care.
You will be the driving force shaping the category DNA, building an iconic portfolio, and turning consumer insight into products and experiences people fall in love with.
Key Responsibilities
Category Vision & Strategy
- Define the long-term vision, architecture, and growth roadmap.
- Manage category teams, and maintain brand relationships.
- Identify whitespace opportunities, consumer need gaps, and category trends that shape product and innovation strategy.
P&L Ownership & Growth
Own the P&L end-to-end — pricing, costs, margins, and contribution.Craft and execute GTM playbooks that scale quickly and efficiently.Consumer & Market Intelligence
Build deep understanding of user journeys, behaviours, preferences, and emotional triggers across beauty.Leverage data, research, and insights to drive product decisions, category performance, and portfolio expansion.Cross-functional Leadership
Work closely with Product, Tech, Design, Supply Chain, and Growth to build seamless consumer experiences.Collaborate with Creative & Content to craft compelling campaigns, brand stories, and launch narratives.Operational Excellence
Build scalable processes for forecasting, demand planning, inventory, and merchandising.Ensure timely execution across product development, sourcing, and supply chain.Team & Culture Building
Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performance category and brand team.Build a culture of curiosity, creativity, ownership, and relentless consumer obsession.Ideal Profile
6–12 years of experience in Beauty & Personal Care, with strong exposure to category management, brand building, or P&L ownership.Proven track record of launching new brands and scaling successful beauty or personal care brands / products.Deep understanding of consumer insights, beauty trends, product frameworks, and competitive dynamics.A builder’s mindset thrives in zero-to-one environments; can move from ambiguity to clarity.Strong commercial acumen : pricing, margin structures, forecasting, and business planning.Strong cross-functional leadership skills; ability to influence creative, product, and operational teams.Experience with D2C brands or digital-first consumer businesses is a strong plus.Emotional intelligence, aesthetic sensibility, and a passion for the beauty category.Prior founder experience is ++ advantageWhat Makes This Role Special
