Job Description : Director – Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)
1. Position Summary
The Director of IQAC is responsible for planning, guiding, and monitoring quality assurance and quality enhancement activities across the institution. The role ensures compliance with accreditation standards (e.G., NAAC), oversees continuous improvement, and fosters a culture of academic and administrative excellence.
2. Key Roles & Responsibilities
A. Strategic Planning & Quality Assurance
- Develop and implement the institution’s quality assurance policies , strategies, and annual quality plans.
- Coordinate the preparation and execution of the Institutional Strategic Plan .
- Establish benchmarks for various academic and administrative activities.
B. Accreditation & Compliance
Oversee preparation, documentation, and submission of NAAC SSR / SAR , AQAR, and other accreditation reports.Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (UGC, AICTE, NCTE, PCI, etc., as applicable).Coordinate internal academic and administrative audits.C. Data Management & Documentation
Develop and maintain a comprehensive Management Information System (MIS) for data collection.Oversee systematic documentation of all quality assurance activities.Maintain accurate records required for assessment and accreditation.D. Academic Quality Enhancement
Promote adoption of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) , curriculum reforms, and innovative teaching-learning methodologies.Facilitate workshops, training, and FDPs related to pedagogy, research, and quality improvement.Support departments in developing and reviewing Program Outcomes (POs) and Course Outcomes (COs).E. Research & Faculty Development
Encourage a research culture by promoting collaborations, publications, and grant proposals.Develop faculty development policies and training modules.Monitor faculty appraisal and performance systems.F. Student-Centric Initiatives
Promote student progression, mentoring, support services, and feedback systems.Ensure timely collection and analysis of student satisfaction surveys.Implement practices to enhance employability, soft skills, and holistic development.G. Collaboration & Best Practices
Identify, disseminate, and document institutional best practices and quality initiatives.Foster linkages with industry, academia, and community organizations.Organize seminars, conferences, and outreach activities on quality assurance.H. Leadership & Administration
Lead the IQAC team, committees, and subcommittees.Prepare annual budgets and manage IQAC resources.Present reports to top management, governing bodies, and external stakeholders.3. Required Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree (PhD preferred) with strong academic record.Minimum 10–15 years of experience in teaching / research / administration.Knowledge of NAAC accreditation processes, QMS, and higher-education quality standards.Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
