As Engineering Director in Finance Data and Technology (D&T) Actuarial Reserving, you will lead a team of Engineering Managers. You will be responsible for driving the strategic direction
of the technology architecture, ensuring delivery excellence, and fostering a culture of
innovation and collaboration.
You will :
- Drive IT Architecture across your product area in alignment with Organization's standards
- Analyze high-level business requirements and integrate them into the application
landscape.
Be accountable for non-functional aspects such as performance, reliability, and securityBe actively involved in prioritizing project deliveries and change requestsContinuously optimize the actuarial reserving system landscapesOversee resource planning and cloud cost managementEnsure teams adhere to development best practices and internal standardsOversee people management, performance feedback, development planning, andformal reviews.
Participate in Organization's wide IT initiativesCo-lead a product area together with the Product & Delivery Director, ensuringseamless collaboration between engineering and product functions (What and How)

Define and execute the technology strategy for your domain, aligned with businessgoals.
Lead and mentor Engineering ManagersOversee architectural decisions and technical standards across teams.Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including actuaries, Product & DeliveryDirectors, Engineering Directors, and operation teams.
Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks and external regulatoryrequirements.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, tooling, and delivery pipelines.Contribute to Organization's wide technology and engineering initiatives.About you : (education, linguistic ability, professional experience, leadership qualities, soft skills)
As a successful candidate for this role, you possess :
Proven leadership experience in engineering management within insurance / financialservices
Strong background as software engineerStrong understanding of modern software architecture, cloud platforms (Azure) anddata engineering, including working on a Spark based platform
Preferably experience with Java, Python, Databricks, AngularExcellent relational database skills (modelling, SQL) and track record working withstructured financial data
Proven experience in the actuarial reserving business domain, exposure to both P&Cand L&H a plus
Solid understanding of actuarial modelling platforms incl. market standard SW andintegrations to financial reporting systems
Proven experience implementing complex actuarial and / or finance system capabilitiesand guiding platform change
Ability to lead through influence and drive change across complex environmentsExperience leading distributed teams across different locations and culturesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English
