Requisite Qualification : Masters in Management, Social Work (MSW), Rural Management, or Humanities. Bachelors degree holders with robust operational experience are welcome to apply.
Requisite Experience : Operations : Strong background in managing day-to-day operations, preferably in an educational, NGO, or vocational training setup.
Field Work : Willingness to travel extensively within Kachchh for local outreach and student recruitment. Language : Fluent Gujarati is preferable. Strong command of Hindi and English is required for reporting and coordination.
Other specific required Skills for the Role : Coordination : Ability to work in a "hub and spoke" model, coordinating with colleagues in different locations (Bagalkote / Mumbai) and functions (Comms / Finance). Multi-tasking : Comfortable switching between sitting in a classroom jury, visiting a village for admissions, and coordinating with the Office Manager for exhibition logistics. Tech Savvy : Proficient in using digital tools to report data to the Comms and Directorial teams.
Job Description
1. Core Operations & Program Management (Primary Focus)
Academic Execution : Oversee the daily schedule of the design and business courses. Ensure faculty (visiting and permanent) have the resources they need and that the curriculum is delivered effectively. Student Lifecycle Management : Manage the entire student journey from enrollment to convocation. Handle student grievances, attendance, and feedback loops. Event Execution : Lead the on-ground planning and execution of : Kala Umang : The annual Convocation and fashion show.
Exhibitions : Managing logistics, inventory, and setup for exhibitions in various cities. Juries & Seminars : Organizing final juries and industry interaction sessions. Alumni Relations : Serve as the primary point of contact for the alumni association (Design Craft). Coordinate workshops and maintain active relationships with graduates.
2. Coordination & Internal Communication
With Communications & Outreach Lead : You are the "eyes and ears" on the ground. Your responsibility is to feed the Comms Lead with raw content—photos of classes, updates on student progress, and success stories—so they can manage SKV’s external image. With Office Manager (Kachchh) : A symbiotic partnership. While you define what is needed for the program (e.g., "We need a bus for a field trip"), the Office Manager executes the transaction (bookings / payments). You will coordinate with them daily to ensure seamless logistics. With Regional Coordinator (Bagalkote) : Regular check-ins to ensure that SKV Kachchh and SKV Bagalkote are aligned on academic standards, calendar planning, and institutional values.
3. Local Outreach & Admissions (Crucial Operational Task)
Admissions Drive : Actively visit artisan clusters in Kachchh to recruit new students. This is a hands-on responsibility requiring travel to villages to explain the value of education to artisan families.
Market Mapping : Continuously identify which artisan communities (weavers, printers, embroiderers) are under-represented and target them for the next academic year.
4. Expansion & Development (Added Responsibility)
Course Expansion : Execute the rollout of the Pattern Making and Business Management for Artisans (BMA) courses. This includes scheduling, finding relevant faculty, and setting up the classroom infrastructure. Hard Materials Pilot : Assist the Director in the operational setup of the new "Hard Materials" wing (Wood / Metal / Leather). Help identify local master artisans in these crafts for potential faculty roles.
