Core responsibilities

Record and manage transactions : Maintain accurate ledgers by posting journal entries and recording daily financial transactions.

Manage accounts : Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable including processing invoices.

Prepare reports : Assist in creating financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements and compile reports as needed.

Perform reconciliations : Conduct regular bank and ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

Support closing processes : Assist with the month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Assist with audits : Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Qualifications and skills

Education : A bachelors degree in accounting or a related field is typically required.

Experience : Some related experience is often preferred though it may be an entry-level role.

Technical skills : Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is essential.

Soft skills : Strong attention to detail problem-solving abilities and good communication skills are necessary.

Other duties : This role may also include assisting with payroll preparing tax filings and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Required Skills :

Work experience as an Accountant. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
