Required Technical Skill Set

Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V, SCCM, Powershell, Active Directory.

Desired Competencies

Provide VMware support including incident and work requests within the virtualization infrastructure spanning multiple data centers, across multiple VMWare ESX environments

Configure and optimize the virtual infrastructure

Working with change tools to maintain client SLAs

Monitor virtualization infrastructure and provide advice on capacity requirements

Provide security compliance under relevant security policies

Liaise on virtualization configuration with the storage systems manager and system administrators

• Provide support and advice to projects requiring IT platforms support;

Proactively managing the environment to prevent incidents from occurring

Windows :

In depth knowledge in Windows Server 2012 , 2012R2 , 2016 and 2019.

Perform Inplace upgrade for the Servers

Manage & Maintain Microsoft Hyper-V infrastructure

Manage & Maintain VMware infrastructure

In depth knowledge in Clustering, DNS, DHCP, GPO and file services

Responsible for troubleshooting OS & server hardware related issues by coordinating with Data Center engineers.

Identify issues in the Windows environment proactively.

Troubleshooting and break-fix of issues in Windows

Health check of Windows environment

Responsible for managing Antivirus

Responsible for applying security patches to windows servers using WSUS & SCCM tools

Responsible for building & hardening windows servers

Analyze server logs & provide root cause analysis during Major incidents

Manage & maintain permissions on File servers & NAS shares

VMware :

Install, configure and maintain VMware ESXi & vCenter servers of version 7.0 and later versions

Troubleshooting and RCA of Windows and VMware infrastructure.

Performance analysis and tuning of available infrastructure.

Creation, migration, cloning, snapshots, backup, recovery and troubleshooting of Virtual machines

Experience in P2V, VMotion and VMware virtual center.

Good hands on the command line of ESX.

Good hands on Experience in diagnostics & troubleshooting of ESX server environment.

Good understanding of HA and DRS environments.

Experience in performance tuning of VMWare servers and Virtual sessions and management of servers' resources between virtual machines.

Vulnerability Management and mitigation

VCenter and ESXI host upgrade

BIOS and Firmware upgrade for the ESXI hardware

Work with onsite\hands and feet support counterpart for any replacement on hardware

Good-to-Have

SCCM :

Infrastructure Knowledge about SCCM

Scripting Knowledge :

Powershell Scripts, Vbscripts,Batch Script understanding

VMware :

Knowledge on SRM configuration, VRops

Others :

Nutanix and Cloud platform understanding.
