Summary of Position :
IT Systems Software Analysis & Programming focuses on programming & configuration of IT Systems Software (i.e. software for use in operating / controlling hardware and providing a platform for running internal end user / business applications). The work includes :
- Identifying and analyzing business needs, conducting requirements gathering, and defining scope and objectives for the IT System
- Developing programming specifications, diagrams, and flowcharts
- Writing code in lower-level programming languages to optimize the performance and efficiency of an organization’s IT platform / infrastructure
- Configuring, customizing, diagnosing, and enhancing vendor systems software (e.g., operating systems software and utilities that manage access to peripherals, facilitate networking, manage memory allocation, manage file storage on hard drives, etc.)
- Writing diagnostic programs to test integrated software / hardware systems and resolve system faults
- Creating functional and technical documentation of systems software programs and code.
Key Responsibilities :
Design and implement MES solutions to support manufacturing operations, digital transformation initiatives and seamless data exchange across enterprise systems.Manage a common code base for MES systems within the same franchise of globally spread systems to ensure consistency and efficiency.Drive collaboration with vendors, IT teams and the Business stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution with system alignment and business needs.Assess business requirements and translate them into MES functional specifications.Develop and optimize MES workflows, ensuring alignment with industry standards such as ISA-95.Lead MES deployment projects, including system configuration, testing, and validation.Provide technical guidance and training to internal teams and stakeholders.Troubleshoot and resolve MES-related issues to maintain system stability and performance.Follow and participate in incident management, major incident management, problem management, change management, and configuration management processes.Manage, create, update and execute GxP documentation such as test scripts as required to ensure all relevant Compliance policies and regulations are metExpected to be on call as needed to support manufacturing sites.Key Requirements / Minimum Qualifications :
Min Education : Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT Technology or similar education.6 - 8 years of total experience.Proven, Hands-on experience as an MES Functional Architect or in a similar role.3+ years’ relevant hands-on experience in Siemens OpcenterExperience with GxP, ITIL – ideally ServiceNow and JiraThe ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in EnglishExcellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, analytical and presentation skillsGreat problem solver and ability to work on your own as well as with a teamProven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a complex matrix organizationStrong knowledge of Siemens Opcenter, manufacturing processes, industrial automation, and IIoT technologies.Proficiency in SQL databases, scripting, and data integration tools.Familiarity with enterprise applications such as ERP, SCADA, and PLM systems.Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.Work hours : 1 PM to 10 PM IST
