We are looking for a highly skilled Unreal Environment Artist with hands-on experience in World Creator and SpeedTree to help us build immersive, photorealistic worlds for Movies . The ideal candidate has a strong eye for realism, deep technical knowledge of Unreal Engine, and a passion for crafting cinematic experiences that hold up across lighting, weather, scale, and distance.
What You’ll Work On You will be responsible for creating highly realistic real-time environments, including landscapes, vegetation, atmospheric elements, and lighting setups that serve as the visual foundation for a simulation requiring accuracy and consistency.
Key Responsibilities Build photorealistic environments in Unreal Engine 5 using World Creator for terrain generation and SpeedTree for vegetation workflows.
Create realistic foliage ecosystems—trees, plants, grass, and ground cover—that behave properly under environmental simulation variables (wind, weather, time-of-day, distance LOD transitions).
Develop cinematic-quality lighting setups suitable for real-time rendering (Lumen, HDRI, fog, volumetrics, GI).
Set up advanced shader networks for terrain, foliage, water, atmospheric effects, and surface detail.
Ensure all environments maintain realism across different lighting conditions, camera angles, and simulation scenarios.
Troubleshoot environment issues related to shading, lighting, and simulation accuracy.
Maintain consistent art direction and visual style across all deliverables.
Requirements 3+ years of experience as an Environment Artist in Unreal Engine (preferably UE5).
Expert knowledge of World Creator for procedural terrain creation.
Strong experience in 3D vegetation modeling using software like SpeedTree for high-quality vegetation modeling and wind simulation.
Proven ability to create photorealistic environments with full ecosystem world-building.
Deep understanding of real-time lighting , Lumen, HDRI setups, volumetric effects, and physically accurate rendering.
Solid understanding of materials and shaders , especially for foliage, terrain, and natural environments.
Experience with atmospheric simulation (fog, clouds, day / night cycles).
Strong knowledge of PBR pipelines, texture authoring, and environment art best practices.
A portfolio demonstrating high-level environment art and realistic simulations.
Nice to Have Experience with Quixel Megascans, Gaea, Houdini, or other procedural environment tools.
Background in cinematics or real-time filmmaking.
Understanding of environmental storytelling and scene composition.
Ability to create custom vegetation assets manually when needed.
