Aajeevika Bureau is a labour rights and services organization committed to empowering informal and migrant workers, and their communities. Headquartered in Udaipur, Rajasthan, Aajeevika’s work spans several rural and urban labour markets across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.
The organization’s LEAD Cell (Legal Education and Aid for Development) provides legal assistance to workers facing issues such as wage theft, lack of compensation in case of workplace injuries, bondage, unfair contractual arrangements, and hazardous working conditions. LEAD also operates LabourLine , a national helpline for workers, responding to and resolving thousands of labour-related cases every year.

Position Overview :
Aajeevika Bureau invites applications for the position of Executive – Legal Strategy and Partnerships , based in Udaipur. The role will focus on expanding the footprint of Aajeevika’s LEAD Cell across western India by forging strategic partnerships with :
Workers’ collectives and organizations
Members of the legal fraternity and legal services authorities
Employers, law schools, and civil society partners
The Executive will identify and initiate new opportunities for legal aid, particularly in labour-dense regions. The role includes :
Designing and implementing programmes such as legal fellowships, training for para-legal workers, and collaborations with labour governance systems.
Advancing research, documentation, and publishing efforts to promote awareness and advocacy on labour justice issues.
This is a dynamic and outward-facing role that demands initiative, strategic thinking, and strong relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
Strengthen LEAD’s presence through strategic partnerships and collaborations.
Identify new geographies and sectors for expanding legal aid access.
Develop and manage programmes related to legal education, training, and advocacy.
Engage with government institutions, legal services authorities, and industry bodies.
Lead research, publications, and advocacy initiatives on workers’ rights and justice systems.
Represent Aajeevika Bureau in networks, legal forums, and policy discussions.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB / LLM) from a recognized institution.
5–7 years of relevant experience in legal aid, labour law, human rights, or rights-based work.
Strong interest in advancing justice for vulnerable and informal workers.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Hindi (spoken and written).
Excellent communication, networking, and partnership-building skills.
Experience working with legal institutions and stakeholders in Rajasthan and Gujarat will be a significant advantage.
Willingness to travel frequently across locations.
