Total CollectR (a product of Total AI Systems Inc. ) is a SaaS startup with a 30-person technical team. We run one dedicated instance of our LAMP-based application and database per customer, which requires robust automation, monitoring, and scalability. Our DevOps infrastructure is hosted on AWS and supports MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and RabbitMQ. We maintain SOC II compliance and are committed to achieving 99.9% uptime across environments.
Role Summary
The DevOps Engineer will be the primary infrastructure owner, responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining the AWS infrastructure that powers our multi-tenant SaaS platform. This includes implementing CI / CD pipelines, improving observability with DataDog, managing backups and recovery, and ensuring high reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and maintain AWS-based infrastructure (EC2, RDS, Route53, CloudFront).
Automate provisioning and configuration using Chef and optional CloudFormation.
Implement CI / CD pipelines using GitHub Actions integrated with AWS.
Develop scripts (Python / PHP) for automating environment management across tenants.
Manage MySQL and MongoDB databases, including automated backups and restores.
Deploy and optimize monitoring and alerting using DataDog.
Maintain SOC II compliance, IAM policies, and audit readiness.
Support multiple environments : Development, QA, Staging, and segmented Production (Beta / Stable / Low Risk).
Collaborate with developers via a ticket-based workflow and ensure fast communication.
Lead infrastructure migration and establish a scalable backup strategy.
Mentor future DevOps hires and grow the infrastructure team.
Requirements
5-7 years of hands-on experience in AWS DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
Strong knowledge of AWS services IAM, VPC, Load Balancers, Lambda, SQS, CloudFront, Route53, etc.
Proficiency in scripting – Bash, Shell, Python or PHP for automation and tooling.
Strong understanding of the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache / Nginx, MySQL, PHP).
Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ for event-driven architectures.
Experience with CI / CD tools (GitHub Actions or similar).
Experience securing and monitoring infrastructure.
Familiarity with security and compliance standards like SOC II.
Preferred to have AWS certifications.
