The Technical Project Manager (TPM) is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering complex technical projects with a focus on quality, timeliness, and alignment with business objectives. This role requires strong technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, architecture, QA, operations, and business stakeholders. The TPM ensures that technical requirements are fully understood, risks are proactively managed, and project outcomes meet organizational standards and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Lead end-to-end planning, scheduling, and execution of technical projects, ensuring alignment with scope, timelines, and budget.
Define project roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and resource allocation.
Drive project meetings, track progress, and provide frequent status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
Technical Leadership
Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and SMEs to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements.
Ensure technical feasibility, validate solution proposals, and oversee integration with existing systems.
Support engineering teams by removing obstacles and enabling efficient technical delivery.
Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary point of contact between technical teams, business teams, and external partners.
Manage expectations, handle escalations, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Communicate complex technical concepts in clear, business-friendly language.
Risk & Issue Management
Identify project risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor critical dependencies.
Lead problem-solving discussions and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Process, Tools & Quality
Ensure adherence to SDLC, DevOps, Agile, and project governance practices.
Maintain project documentation including charters, technical specs, RAID logs, and deployment plans.
Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, tooling, and cross-team collaboration.
Delivery & Transition
Coordinate testing, release planning, deployment, and transition to operations.
Ensure knowledge transfer, handover documentation, and post-deployment support readiness.
Measure success criteria, track KPIs, and conduct post-implementation reviews.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
8-10+ years of experience managing technical or software development projects.
Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Strong understanding of APIs, integration patterns, cloud-native architectures, and modern engineering practices.
Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile / Scrum).
Experience with DevOps pipelines, CI / CD, infrastructure-as-code tools, and cloud automation.
Background in modernization, migration, cloud transformation, or enterprise-scale system implementations.
Experience working in regulated environments (healthcare, government, finance).
