Job Title : EDI Developer / Integration Specialist (Contract – Remote)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and highly motivated EDI Developer / Integration Specialist to support one of our prestigious clients. This is a remote contract position with a strong possibility of conversion to a full-time role based on performance and business needs.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise with OpenText and IBM Sterling platforms and a passion for learning and expanding their knowledge — especially in EDI, if not already proficient. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing EDI integrations that enhance supply chain efficiency and support overall business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Implementation
- Architect, design, and implement new EDI solutions and B2B integrations across OpenText and IBM Sterling platforms.
Mapping & Transformation
Develop and maintain data maps for formats including ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, JSON, and flat files.Trading Partner Onboarding
Coordinate onboarding with internal teams and external trading partners to ensure seamless integration and communication.Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Monitor EDI transaction flows, resolve errors, and address data discrepancies in a timely manner to reduce operational impact.System Administration
Configure, maintain, and support the IBM Sterling B2B Integrator environment, including upgrades and migrations.Protocol Management
Configure and support communication protocols such as AS2, SFTP, and FTP.Documentation
Maintain detailed technical documentation for EDI maps, processes,configurations, and integration points.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with business analysts, internal stakeholders, and trading partners to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.Support & Training
Provide technical support and training for internal users on EDI processes, mapping standards, and best practices.Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.3–5+ years of hands-on experience in EDI development and implementation.Proven experience with OpenText (e.g., GXS) and IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.Strong mapping experience with ANSI X12 and EDIFACT standards.Proficiency with XML, JSON, and database technologies (SQL, DB2).Strong understanding of communication protocols (AS2, SFTP, FTP).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with supply-chain / retail / logistics EDI transaction sets (e.g., 850, 856, 810, 866, DELFOR, DELJIT, DESADV, INVOIC).Familiarity with APIs, web services, or other modern integration technologies.Experience with Power BI or Power Automate.Interest in or willingness to learn AI technologies.Knowledge of scripting languages or BPML for process automation.Experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle and their EDI integrations.Background working in an Agile development environment.
