Sr. Director, Software Engineering (Payments team, Java, GenAI, 20+ years' exp)

We are seeking a candidate with a demonstrated ability to lead by influence with a record of successfully delivering modern large-scale complex services and products with the highest levels of security and reliability. This is accomplished by leading multiple large diverse technical teams at all levels and closely collaborate with program and product teams.

Your mission is to provide hands-on leadership to global Payment Processing teams and build a world-class team of engineers. The focus is on defining executing and delivering functional and non-functional features at scale quickly and promoting a diverse culture of cross-functional collaboration and engineering excellence. Be an idea leader and bring industry best practices to benefit the team and the wider organization. The ability to synthesize and simplify complex needs including business capabilities and operational efficiencies while conforming to regulatory security and privacy requirements is required.

Essential Functions :

• Drive the design implementation and deployment of secure reliable robust and interoperable products.
• Provide leadership across the engineering organization to ensure solutions are built in alignment with platform principles and standards of six nines availability.
• Define technical strategy for the payment processing platform that aligns with the product vision and accelerates innovation.
• Drive strategic impact by delivering fit-for-purpose products with an accelerated time to market.
• Leverage AI / ML technologies in bringing productivity across the SDLC phases and develop innovative business solutions.
• Partner with Product Regional teams on requirements and prioritization. Influence product strategy and roadmap.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team of software developers data engineers AI & ML experts test engineers release engineers.
• Develop and nurture the engineering team by hiring critical talent driving retention motivating and mentoring staff and driving career growth for team members. Build an inclusive team culture and a culture of ownership and accountability.
• Ensure strong program management and governance practices for your team.
• Forge strong partnerships with key stakeholders across Technology & Business.
• Role model Visa Leadership Principles (VLPs).

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
