Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for assisting our clients in reviewing the returns prepared by junior team members and working directly with US clients. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is able to work independently. The Tax Manager will be responsible for maintaining client confidentiality and following all company policies.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Previous experience of at least 8+ years in US tax with at least 5+ years as Reviewer of US Tax returns

Review client financial information to prepare them for tax returns specially 1040s

End to end communication directly with clients based in the US - understanding tax issues and resolving them directly with clients

Must be proficient with QuickBooks, Xero or any other bookkeeping software

Familiarity with the tax return submission and confirmation process, including how to navigate the IRS and other Government entity online platforms.

Identify and prepare US tax forms and reports according to client requirements

Maintain excellent customer service with clients, internal team members, and other external contacts.

Ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner to ensure clients receive the highest level of service.

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude towards your colleagues and clients.

This position requires you to be flexible in your hours of work

Required Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with clients, other team members, and external parties

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Pro software (Required)

Strong knowledge of US Tax Laws, 1040s, 1120s and related concepts

Knowledge of accounting practices is an asset but is not required.

Knowledge of QuickBooks is an asset but is not required but may be useful in the event of an audit

CPA or EA or CA is a big plus

Previous experience in a Big 4 (EY, KPMG, Deloitte or PWC) preferred but not required
