Deputy Vice President - Legal - Mutual Funds / Law Firm - LLB / LLM

Candidates from Mutual Funds, Law firms or AIF / PMS firms will be preferred.

AIF / PMS experience is a must.

Job Summary :

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic candidate to lead the legal department and serve as the principal legal advisor to the executive team. The ideal candidate will bring strong legal acumen, business judgment, and leadership skills to support the company's goals while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Role and Responsibilities :

• Provide legal counsel to leadership on matters across Mutual Funds, PMS, and AIF platforms.
• Ensure legal expertise aligned with SEBI regulations governing MF (MF Regulations, 1996), PMS, and AIF (SEBI AIF Regulations, 2012).
• Advise on structuring, launching, and managing AIF schemes and PMS strategies from a legal standpoint.
• Ensure ongoing regulatory legal queries or observations from SEBI or other regulators.
• Draft, vet, and negotiate fund formation documents, private placement memorandums (PPMs), investment agreements, distribution agreements, IMA / IPAs, and service provider contracts for MF, PMS & AIF products.
• Handle disputes, arbitrations, or litigations relating to MF / PMS / AIF businesses and other organizational related legal matters.
